[LONDON, UK] September 3rd 2024: Leading supplier of physics-based adaptive charging software for batteries, Breathe Battery Technologies has reported a period of remarkable growth and innovation.

In the past year it has doubled its workforce from 30 to 60 employees and expanded into new offices in Oval, London, signaling a significant scale-up in operations. This expansion is not limited to personnel; Breathe has also doubled the capacity of its laboratory, reinforcing its status as the largest battery lab in London and underlining its commitment to pushing the boundaries of battery technology.

The company’s rapid expansion comes on the heels of several notable achievements. In March, it announced a groundbreaking partnership with Volvo Cars which will see its innovative software, Breathe Charge integrated into Volvo Car’s new generation of fully electric vehicles, reducing charge times by 30% while maintaining the same energy density and range without impacting the vehicle battery’s health status.

In April, Breathe also strengthened its leadership team by appointing Aurélie Maedje as VP People and Operations.  Maedje, who brings valuable experience from her tenure at fast-growing online marketplace, refurbed, has since been spearheading Breathe’s rapid team expansion. This comes hot off the back of the appointment of Rich Silley as VP Sales. With an extensive background in sales leadership from National Instruments and Sondrel, Silley will drive Breathe’s market expansion and customer engagements.

Dr. Ian Campbell, co-founder and CEO of Breathe Battery Technologies said:

“Our recent growth is a testament to the increasing demand for advanced battery solutions in the global push towards electrification. By expanding our team and facilities, we’re

positioning ourselves at the forefront of this revolution. Our partnership with Volvo Cars is just the beginning. We’re committed to developing technologies that will make electric vehicles more accessible and convenient for everyone, ultimately contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”

As Breathe Battery Technologies continues to grow and innovate, it remains true to its founding dream: a world where everyone breathes clean air. By making batteries better and helping brands do more with the power they have, Breathe is not just riding the wave of electrification – it’s helping to create it. With its expanded team, enhanced facilities, and groundbreaking partnerships, Breathe is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable energy and transportation.

About Breathe Battery Technologies

Breathe Battery Technologies (“Breathe”) is more than a battery performance company. Since being spun out of Imperial College in 2019, Breathe’s focus has been on building battery technology to contribute to a faster, better and more sustainable electrification of the world.

Today, it provides physics-based battery management software that helps the world’s most iconic electric vehicle and consumer electronics brands do more with the power they have. Because an electrified future requires superior customer experiences.

The company’s embedded software products, Breathe Charge and Breathe Life, use adaptive charging to dynamically adjust the charging current across both the state of charge and state health windows, indicating the ideal current at every moment. Its products extract more performance from existing batteries to deliver faster charging, greater cycle life and zero compromise on safety.

Breathe Battery Technologies’ dream is that one day everyone will breathe clean air. That’s why it makes batteries better.
