Air Liquide

Air Liquide
Description

The production of batteries for electric vehicles requires the use of gas for mining, manufacturing ofactive materials, cell production and recycling.

Gases and their supply methods play an essential role inthe safety of your installations, where they improve quality and productivity, while minimising the carbon footprint.

Air Liquide in the Nordics contributes to climate change mitigation by developing innovations and solutions for increased energy efficiency, decarbonization and resource optimization for our customers. ECO ORIGINTM Climate-smart gas is an example of an innovation that leads to reduced carbon dioxide emissions.

Some of our innovative solutions lead to better sustainability, such as reduced energy consumption, increased food life, wastewater treatment and reduced use of chemicals, while other innovations have an impact on product safety and quality.

The Air Liquide Group is committed to contributing to the development of a fossil-free society. In the Nordic region, we are actively working on this, for example by developing biogas for industries and transport, promoting hydrogen as a future energy source and investigating and developing the possibilities for CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage).

Air Liquide's group goal is to be carbon neutral by 2050. To get there, we will reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by 33% by 2035 compared to 2020. Gas production in our air gas plants is an energy-intensive process, but by automating and centralizing operations, we can optimize the performance of our plants. This applies in particular to energy consumption, which leads to both efficiency gains and reduced environmental impact, i.e. lower carbon dioxide emissions. We will also reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by securing more renewable electricity for our production facilities.

Our sites in Sweden and Denmark are certified according to the ISO 14001:2015 environmental standard.
