NOBAT ENTERS UAV MARKET WITH E10 CELL — EUROPE’S FIRST HOMEGROWN BATTERY FOR DRONES

Battery Tech

Voderady, Slovakia, May 2025 – InoBat, a pioneer in European battery innovation, is taking flight into the unmanned aerial vehicle UAV market with the launch of its groundbreaking E10 Cell, the very first fully European-made battery tailored for defense drones and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This launch marks a new era in strategic energy independence for Europe’s defense capabilities.

“Our mission has always been to put Europe back in charge of its strategic industries. The E10 battery positions Europe as a leader in UAV energy independence, setting a new standard for secure, sovereign energy solutions,” said Marian Bocek, CEO and Co-Founder of InoBat.

As Europe strengthens its strategic autonomy amid rising geopolitical tensions and shifting global supply chains, InoBat’s E10 cell emerges as a game-changer for European defense and drone applications. This advanced technology represents the first fully European alternative to lithium-polymer cells traditionally sourced from Asia, providing the continent with a sovereign solution for critical air-based operations.

“With the E10, we are offering more than a battery, we are providing energy independence for high-performance air-based systems. In this age of global instability, secure and sovereign European technology is not just preferable, it is essential” added Andy Palmer, Chairman of InoBat.

The E10 cell is built on InoBat’s proprietary 4th Generation (Gen4) of chemistry platform, which stems from years of advanced R&D in urban air mobility (eVTOL) technologies. That high-performance foundation is now being adapted and optimized for the emerging drone and UAS market, offering exceptional power output, reliability, and form factor flexibility for critical and commercial operations.

With up to 40% increased flight time or up to 60% higher payload capacity, and up to 5x faster charging speed compared to conventional graphite anode-based batteries, the E10 sets a new benchmark in UAV energy performance with its advanced silicon anode technology. These superior technical parameters enable longer missions, faster redeployment, and enhanced operational efficiency — critical advantages for both defense and civilian UAV applications.

The E10 battery is ideally suited for UAVs operating in a wide range of missions, including defense applications, such as border management and ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance), as well as civilian tasks like aerial reconnaissance and infrastructure monitoring. Its long lifespan, rapid chargeability, and reduced total cost of ownership allow operators to fly longer, faster, and with fewer interruptions. By integrating NATO-compliant technology, InoBat ensures that European defense operations are equipped with cutting-edge, reliable energy solutions manufactured entirely within the EU.The modular production design also enables rapid customization and integration within a secure EU-based supply chain.

This milestone marks InoBat’s strategic expansion beyond electric vehicles and aviation into the growing global UAV market, while reinforcing Slovakia’s position as a key contributor to EU and NATO technological capability.

Technical Highlights of the E10 Cell:

Tailored for demanding UAV missions, the E10 delivers:

  • Gravimetric energy density exceeding 320 Wh/kg – providing superior energy-to-weight ratio for extended flight duration.
  • Charging time under 15 minutes (10–80% SOC) – minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Cycle life of 750+ at 1C-1C, maintaining 80% SOH – ensuring long-term reliability for defense and commercial applications.
  • Lightweight design – enhancing drone agility and maneuverability.
  • Flexible form factors and stable chemistry – allowing seamless integration across diverse UAV platforms.
